Salem, NH 03079 Every year a Salem High School graduate gets to take home a new car donated by Rockingham. The drawing is held at the end of Senior Safe Night. A night when seniors get to spend the whole night inside of Salem High with a number of exciting activities to do until the sun comes up.
The lucky name was pulled at 6AM. Natasha Larason was the lucky winner! Needless to say, Natasha was tired, but ecstatic! She now has a great dependable car to get her to and from college. Congratulations Natasha! We couldn't be more happy for you!
Since 2000, Rockingham Toyota Nissan Honda Scion has been donating a car for this wonderful event. We look forward to continuing this tradition in making future Salem High School Seniors just as happy as Natasha!
Shawn O'Dwyer is celebrating his 20th year this June with the Rockingham family. He started his career at Rockingham right after high school in 1989. Working his way through Technicial school, he received his Associates at the Nasuha Technical Institute and eventually worked his way up to be a Master Technician in 1994. He also has been awarded a Platinum Master Technician for the last 7 years.
Shawn is one of a few technicians who is Nissan GT-R certified in New England and has proudly put together our Nissan Supercharged Nismo 350z.
Shawn has come a long way since his early days. Outside of work, he loves nothing more than spending time with his wife and two little kids.
Rockingham is proud that Shawn has been apart of our family for so long!
The U.S. Treasury has stated that it has expanded its offer of a tax break on new car sales to those bought in states without a sales tax.
"This tax deduction not only increase support for the auto industry as it seeks to rebuild, but also puts money back into the pockets of hard-working Americans," said Neal Wolin, deputy treasury secretary.
Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 2009, taxpayers who bought a new vehicle this year were entitled to deduct state or local sales or excise taxes paid on the purchase.
To be eligible for the tax break, the vehicle must have been bought after February 16, 2009 and before January 1, 2010, the department said. The special deduction is available regardless of whether taxpayers itemize on their returns. Tax payers can claim this only on their 2009 tax returns filed next year.
Some limitations do apply: Available only to vehicles under 49,500 of the purchase price and to those under a modified adjusted gross income of $125,000 for individuals and under $250,000 for joint filers.
